Nestled in the heart of the majestic Romanian mountains, Casa Fundata 13 - Punct Gastronomic Local offers an authentic culinary experience that feels like stepping back into a cherished family tradition. This charming, family-run restaurant specializes in rustic, local cuisine crafted with ingredients freshly harvested from their own garden or nearby mountain meadows. Every dish at Casa Fundata 13 tells a story of heritage and passion, inviting diners to savor the true essence of Fundata and its seasonal bounty.
The culinary journey begins with their thoughtfully curated Mic Dejun (breakfast) options. The Brânzoici și Cafea—delicate brazoici filled with fresh urdă cheese, served alongside tangy smântână and their house-made rosehip paste—delight the palate with their rich, comforting textures and subtle floral notes. Equally indulgent are the Scovergi cu Capră, golden fried dough stuffed with tender goat cheese, fragrant dill, and aromatic sheep’s telemea, perfectly complemented by a glass of creamy, homemade buttermilk. For lovers of lighter fare, the Salată Sfeclă cu Brânzeturi balances earthy beetroot with luscious creamy cheeses, delivering freshness in every bite.
When the clock strikes noon, the Prânz (lunch) offerings beckon with a heartwarming array of soups and main dishes rooted in traditional Romanian flavors. The Ciorbă de Afumătură cu Cartofi enchants with a smoky depth balanced by soft potatoes, while the Ciorbă de Lobodă highlights fresh garden greens—sorrel, dock, and wood sorrel—infused with dill and lovage, perfectly uplifted by a delicate sourness from house-made bors. For a richer main course, the Gulaș de Vită presents tender beef, slowly simmered to melt-in-your-mouth perfection alongside potatoes, delivering a robust and hearty taste of the Carpathians. The Chiftele Marinate cu Mămăligă serve as a comforting classic—juicy pork meatballs marinated in white wine paired with creamy, golden polenta.
For those planning an intimate evening meal, Casa Fundata 13 offers a reservation-only Cină (dinner) experience. The delicate Ruladă de Porc cu Salată de Cartofi Noi features rolled pork, expertly cooked and paired with new potato salad, marrying simplicity and elegance in every mouthful. This exclusive option showcases the family’s dedication to using seasonal and local products while maintaining a cozy, heartfelt atmosphere.
The ambiance at Casa Fundata 13 is nothing short of enchanting. Housed in a tastefully restored 19th-century mountain home, the setting exudes warmth and nostalgia. The decor thoughtfully blends eclectic and minimalist styles, with handpicked furniture and hand-raised flowers that bring a timeless charm to every corner. Diners often share stories over slow-cooked meals while Marley, the family’s friendly dog, offers comforting companionship. The intimate scale of the restaurant creates a personal connection, making each visit feel less like dining out and more like being invited to a loved one’s table.
Guests consistently praise the heartfelt hospitality and authenticity that permeate the experience. This place is truly magical Hidden in the mountains , it captures your heart from the very first moment. We found a small family-run restaurant where everything is prepared and served by the family themselves. There’s no set menu - they simply cook what they would make for themselves We had a tarragon soup - such a unique, flavorful, and delicious dish The goulash was absolutely incredible - rich, comforting, and full of flavor! For dessert, they served us a traditional Romanian sweet and even surprised us with a little gift Everything was fresh, homemade, and filled with warmth. A true hidden mountain gem we can’t wait to return to

A wonderful family-run restaurant where you can truly feel that everything is made with love and care. Even the flowers on the tables are hand-picked from the nearby mountains. The food is local and seasonal — incredibly delicious. The owners are warm and welcoming, as is their friendly dog. This place isn’t just about food, it’s about emotions — and it’s guaranteed to leave you with the best ones

First punct gastronomic that I've been to. Super service and friendly. Very limited options but I completely understand. Very good food. Catered well for gluten free and vegetarians. Highly recommend. Great value for money given a lot of the salads and vegetables are home grown,

Nice and cozy place, with traditional food. The place by itself its really nice, the house reminded me of my grandparents’ one, with its entrance and architecture. The owners were really polite and friendly and the food good. The reason I gave it 4 stars only is because of the prices, for the overall quality prices seem too much for me. The beef soup was good, but still for 35 Ron I was expecting it to be tastier or at least to have more meat(which was not the case as you can see in the picture). Beef goulash was ok,but again 60lei is a price that ressembles more to Germany or Austria. If you want a more authentic experience, I recommend to visit La Saivan.

Cozy place to eat. Ioan and his sister are lovely hosts and the food is very tasty, prepared with carefully picked products. The house has been beautifully renovated, preserving its charming 19th-century architecture. The furniture and decor are a perfect blend of eclectic and minimalist styles, with each piece thoughtfully selected and carefully restored. The attention to detail creates a timeless and harmonious ambiance that truly stands out. All of this includes the cutest mountain dog! A wonderful experience!
